Fun at DisneySea

Day 7 · DisneySea, Tokyo Scroll down

The plan was simple: take the train to Odaiba and spend the day there, taking in the Tokyo Bay area sights. But Disney Tokyo was on the way, and we had to take a quick peek, even if there was no real intention of staying…

The Disney calling was much bigger though, and we couldn’t resist, we had to go in. First we went for a ride on the Disney monorail around the resort, but then we laid eyes on DisneySea and decided to stay.

We had lunch at Ikspiari, a 140 store/restaurant complex near the resort entrance. We ordered a couple of ordinary beers, but got Kirin Frozen Draft — a delicious Kirin beer with beer icy foam on top. It’s amazing!

We got our ticket to Tokyo DisneySea and dove into a mishmash of old Mediterranean, Arabian and even American coasts, amongst others. There were million of people wandering around but we still managed to get a good look at everything and go on quite a few rides.

Some curiosities about Tokyo Disney resort:

  • It’s the only Disney park not owned by Walt Disney Company.
  • Tokyo DisneySea is the most expensive theme park ever built in the world.
  • Beer and cocktails are sold inside the parks, which makes for an even more interesting experience!

Ah well, the unexpected — that’s why we came for 19 days. Definitely a fun day!
